NEW: Foals Share Lawrence Hart Remix of Wake Me Up

After remixes from Flight Facilities and Gaspard Augé & Victor Le Masne put imaginative new twists on Foals’ current single ‘Wake Me Up’, today sees the release of the track’s third remix courtesy of Lawrence Hart. This is the South London producer and multi-instrumentalist’s second remix for Foals after he teamed up with Little Cub to rework ‘Exits’ in 2019.

Lawrence Hart deploys bright and exuberant keys to propel the ‘Wake Me Up’ melody in a different way, but this is no mere piano house retread. The BPM is elevated to a frantic pace which only pauses for breath during its ambient breakdown, while the original’s insistent hook takes centre-stage. Hart also creatively edits and twists Yannis Philippakis’s vocals in unexpected ways throughout.

Lawrence Hart first came to attention with several collaborations on George FitzGerald’s ‘Fading Love’ album. Subsequent remixes and collaborators have included CamelPhat, Alan Fitzpatrick and Model Man. 2021 saw Hart release his debut solo EP ‘Surrender Yourself’ on the Brixton collective’s Dream Diary label, while his current remix of laur.ra’s ‘Body Go’ has received Radio 1 plays from Arielle Free and Jess Iszatt.
