Two-time Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist H.E.R. has released “Fight For You” from Warner Bros. Pictures’ upcoming feature film Judas and the Black Messiah. The song was recently nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song, the first for the 23-year-old wunderkind. Click here to listen.

Featured on New Music Daily on Apple Music and available at all digital service providers, “Fight For You” is also the first single from the Judas and the Black Messiah: The Inspired Album, which will include songs from Nas, SiR, A$AP Rocky, Dom Kennedy, White Dave and more. The album will available everywhere on February 12 via RCA Records.

Produced by Dernst “D’Mile” Emile II and H.E.R., “Fight For You” is reminiscent of the revolutionary sounds from the `60s and `70s, with poignant lyrics written by H.E.R., Dernst “D’Mile” Emile and Tiara Thomas, that are as relevant in today’s fight for social and racial justice.

All the Smoke in the air

Feel the hate when they stare

All the pain that we bare

Oh you Better beware

Their guns don’t play fair

All we got is a prayer

It was all in their plans

Wash the blood from your hands

Ahead of her Super Bowl LV performance this Sunday (2/7), H.E.R. returned to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert for a special television debut performance of “Fight For You” last night.

“Fight For You” can be heard in the highly anticipated Warner Bros. motion picture Judas and the Black Messiah, which will be released in the U.S. in theaters and on HBO Max on February 12, 2021. Additional information about the Judas and the Black Messiah: The Inspired Album will be announced in the coming days.
